Dolcetto, "the little sweet one," is the principal grape of the Piedmont region of Italy. Dolcetto produces a soft, fruity, medium-bodied red wine that goes well with food. The wine does not require aging, and can be consumed soon after release. Dolcetto is early ripening, but can be susceptible to spring frosts.
